LITURGY GROUP

The Liturgy Group meet on a regular basis throughout the year to plan and co-ordinate the Parishes Liturgical Services.

Our aim is to try and support the liturgical life of the community by working to move the community forward and help it grow in its prayer life.

We look to have a wide cross section of the parish represented in the group, so that we can provide as rich as possible celebrations for all, and meet all different tastes and requirements.

The group actively work with the other Liturgy Groups within the North East Hampshire Pastoral Area to ensure we are sharing resources and experience, examples of this are:

• Lenten discussion groups are held in Fleet
  
• Readers Retreat led by Paul Inwood, the Diocesan Director of Liturgy, held in Aldershot in 2007
• Eucharistic Ministers Retreat held in Farnborough in November 2008

In addition to the main Liturgy Group we have formed separate groups to have responsibility for:

• Parish Celebration: Planning and co-ordination of our Annual Parish Celebration
• Musical Liturgy: There is a core group who plan the music for both St Mary's and St Joseph's, plus the group meet regularly to practice new hymns and musical arrangements.
